What happened

Adobe said on 24 September 2026 that its creative tools now sit inside Google Gemini, and that Acrobat tools plus interactive PDF and Express editing have been added to Adobe for Claude. Photoshop, Lightroom, Express and Firefly can enhance photos, build marketing assets and customise designs through a Gemini chat. Rollout starts globally today across all Gemini plans. To connect: Personal Intelligence → select Adobe under connected apps → sign in with an Adobe account (or create a free one).

On the Claude side, Acrobat tools join the existing creative set for the first time — more than 80 tools across Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign, Adobe Stock and related apps. You can organise PDFs (delete, combine or split pages), redact sensitive information, convert or export formats, and open an interactive editor to reorder pages, edit text, and add comments or highlights. Express designs get a layer-based interactive editor inside Claude. Adobe for Claude is rolling out globally today on desktop, mobile and web (including Claude Code). Guest use works; sign in for the full plugin. Existing Adobe connectors update automatically.

Adobe already sat in ChatGPT, Claude, Slack and Copilot. Today adds Gemini and Acrobat-in-Claude.

What it means for a small business

Risk. Connecting Adobe to Gemini or Claude means those chats can touch the photos and PDFs you upload. Redaction helps before you send a quote or contract — but only if someone checks the output. Guest mode is handy for a try; a named Adobe login keeps usage and files under one account.

Cost. Available across all Gemini plans, and Claude guests can start without paying Adobe first. Paid Adobe seats still matter if you hit usage limits or need the deeper desktop apps. You do not need a new creative suite overnight to test the chat plugins.

Time. Product shots for the website, social variants of one Express layout, and PDF tidy-ups (split, combine, redact) can stay inside the chat you already use — fewer tab hops between design tools and email.

Customer impact. UK and Irish firms still own what leaves the building. Redacting customer details in Acrobat-in-Claude before a file goes to a supplier or freelancers is a practical win. Keep a human eyes-on step before anything customer-facing publishes.

What you can do this week

  1. Connect Adobe in Gemini (Personal Intelligence → connected apps → Adobe) on the account that already drafts marketing copy, and try one product-photo tidy or social resize.
  2. Open Adobe for Claude on desktop or web; if you already had the connector, confirm it updated, then try Acrobat: combine two quote PDFs or redact a phone number on a sample file.
  3. Test Express hands-on editing inside Claude on one flyer — change copy and colour on a layer rather than regenerating the whole design.
  4. Write a one-line team rule: which folders may go into Gemini/Claude Adobe plugins, and which customer PDFs must be redacted first.
  5. Keep the real Adobe apps for brand kits and final print — use the chat plugins for first drafts and tidy-ups, not as the only archive of live assets.
