Build a thirteen-week cashflow sheet with Copilot in Excel or Gemini in Google Sheets, then keep it current with a fifteen-minute Friday bank CSV habit. A cash view, not tax advice.

Cash kills growth before marketing ever gets the chance. You can have a full order book and still run short of money to pay wages, because the invoice you sent last month hasn't been paid yet and the supplier bill lands on Friday regardless. This guide is for the small business owner who's been keeping a rough tally in Notes on their phone, or in their head, and knows that isn't quite good enough any more.
This is a cash view. It isn't a set of accounts, and it definitely isn't tax advice. It's a simple weekly sheet that tells you what's coming in, what's going out, and whether you'll have enough sitting in the bank to cover it. A decorator waiting on stage payments needs this. So does a café with a big supplier bill every Monday. Neither needs it to be complicated.
You build it once, using Copilot in Excel or Gemini in Google Sheets to do the fiddly bits, then spend about fifteen minutes a week keeping it current. That's the whole commitment.
